Retrofit Packages
Five Retrofit Packages. One Honest Recommendation.
Every package starts with a diagnostic built for Park City's Climate Zone 6 conditions — identify what's there, seal the air paths first, then insulate to a target the assembly can actually hold. All of it delivered by one coordinated team serving Summit and Wasatch counties, with your home protected from the first day to the last.
Attic Reset
- Full extraction and disposal of existing attic insulation — including settled, moisture-damaged, or rodent-contaminated material common in older Park City homes
- Closed-cell spray foam at every bypass: top plates, wire and plumbing penetrations, chimney chases, dropped soffits, recessed cans, attic hatch
- Blown-in fill to R-49 minimum, R-60 where depth allows — the Climate Zone 6 target for Summit County
- Baffles installed and ventilation restored to prevent ice dam formation at Park City eaves
- Rebate paperwork filed on your behalf with Enbridge Gas and Rocky Mountain Power
Envelope Reset
- Everything in H1 — Attic Reset
- Injection or slow-rise foam into empty exterior wall cavities — critical for Park City homes facing sustained sub-zero wind chill
- Closed-cell spray foam at the full rim joist and band board perimeter — the #1 source of cold-air infiltration in Summit County basements
- Sealing of the basement-to-attic stack path that drives heat loss at 7,000 ft elevation
- Post-work blower door reading so you see the measured air-change improvement, not just feel it
Whole-Home Performance Retrofit
- Everything in H2 — Envelope Reset
- Crawl space encapsulation with closed-cell foam at stem walls — essential for Park City homes on sloped lots with exposed crawl spaces
- Duct sealing and duct insulation through unconditioned space — prevents heat loss before conditioned air reaches living areas
- Combustion safety testing on the furnace and water heater after tightening — required when a home is significantly air-sealed
- Written performance report: before and after air changes, R-values by assembly, photo documentation — useful for vacation rental listings and future resale
Historic Park City Home Program
- Wall construction assessment: solid multi-wythe or balloon-frame construction common in Park City mining-era homes
- Moisture and freeze-thaw evaluation — critical at 7,000 ft where temperature swings are extreme and vapor management errors cause structural damage
- Bulk water management corrected first: grading, gutters, and downspouts before any insulation work begins
- Graduated insulation approach: moderate closed-cell thickness, vapor-open assemblies where historic materials require it
- Honest recommendation: if the assembly cannot be safely insulated without risk to the structure, we say so and explain why
Mountain Estate Envelope Program
- Roof and vaults: spray foam, blown insulation or hybrid assemblies engineered for condensation control at Park City's 6,900–9,000 ft elevation range
- Walls: batts, blown systems, mineral wool, or exterior continuous insulation — selected for the specific assembly and exposure
- Rim and cantilevers: air-sealed, high-detail transition work at the complex geometries common in mountain architecture
- Garage and bonus rooms: thermal and acoustic comfort for ski storage, home offices, and guest suites
- Radiant floors and heated driveways: load-rated insulation beneath so purchased heat goes where you intended — not into the ground
- Photo verification record delivered before walls, roof or concrete closes access — essential for warranty and future service on high-value Park City properties
Optional Add-On
The White Glove Add-On
Retrofit work is dusty, disruptive and happens inside your house. These options exist so it doesn't have to feel that way. Pick only what you want — every item is optional and priced separately from your package.

How We Work With You
Included as standard on every White Glove job, not charged as extras.
One named point of contact
The same person from first assessment through final walkthrough. No switchboard, no retelling the story to a new person each call — especially important for out-of-state Park City property owners.
Daily end-of-day update
A short message each evening: what got done, what's next, anything we found. Photos where relevant — so you can follow along remotely if you're not in Park City during the work.
Scheduled arrival windows
A two-hour arrival window rather than a day, confirmed the evening before. We respect that Park City schedules — ski days, rental turnovers, HOA windows — don't flex.
Shoe covers and clean-site standards
Covers on indoors, tools off finished surfaces, site tidied at the end of every day. Non-negotiable on high-finish Park City interiors.
Final walkthrough before we invoice
We walk the work with you and resolve anything outstanding before the invoice is raised, not after.
30-day check-in
A call a month later to confirm the house is performing the way we said it would — and to catch anything that needs attention before the next heating season.
Prices shown are per-home unless marked otherwise and cover a standard single-family layout. Items marked 'quoted' depend on the size of the house or the number of nights and are confirmed at assessment. Your selections are an indication of interest, not a binding quote — final pricing is confirmed in writing before any work is scheduled.
The Return, Calculated Honestly
Park City homeowners have been lied to about insulation payback for twenty years.
The fastest way to win a Utah retrofit sale in 2026 is to be the only company in the driveway showing real arithmetic — including the parts that aren't flattering.
| Package | Price | Rebates | Net cost | Saves/yr | Payback | 20-yr net |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| H1 — Attic Reset | $4,400 | −$930 | $3,470 | $265 | 10.5 yr | +$4,840 |
| H2 — Envelope ResetBest ROI | $10,000 | −$1,500 | $8,500 | $743 | 9.4 yr | +$14,800 |
| H3 — Whole-Home | $17,000 | −$2,400 | $14,600 | $1,113 | 10.5 yr | +$20,300 |
Attic-only work has the weakest energy payback of the three packages. The walls are a third of the heat loss in a pre-1980 Park City home, and almost nobody has any wall insulation. At 7,000 ft elevation in Climate Zone 6, that single fact is what makes H2 both the better product and the better investment.
Prices are midpoints of package ranges. Payback and 20-year figures assume 4.5% annual energy cost escalation, consistent with 2025–2026 rate actions of both Utah utilities. At flat energy prices, paybacks run 13–13.5 years instead. Actual performance depends on the home, assembly, weather, mechanical systems and how the owner operates the house.
Rebate Stacking — Your Competitive Advantage
Most Utah homes can claim from two programs at once.
Most Park City and Summit County homes are served by Enbridge Gas for heat and Rocky Mountain Power for cooling. A well-scoped retrofit can claim from both programs — and Hansen files the paperwork for you.
Enbridge Gas — ThermWise
| Measure | Spec | Rebate |
|---|---|---|
| Attic insulation, Tier 1 | Add R-19 min, finish R-49 to R-60 | $0.32/sq ft |
| Attic insulation, Tier 2 | Add R-11 min, finish R-49 to R-60 | $0.08/sq ft |
| Wall insulation | Increments of R-11 or higher | $0.30/sq ft |
| Air sealing | Single-family, to spec | $200 + $0.10/sq ft, max $850 |
| Duct sealing + insulation | Must be done together | $100 + $5.25/lin ft, max $450 |
Rocky Mountain Power — Wattsmart Homes
| Measure | Spec | Rebate |
|---|---|---|
| Attic insulation | Pre-existing R-19 or less, finish R-49+ | $0.10/sq ft |
| Wall insulation | No existing insulation, gain R-13+ | $0.65/sq ft (electric heat) / $0.25/sq ft (cooling) |
| Floor insulation | Pre-existing R-11 or less, finish R-30+ | $0.65/sq ft (electric heat) / $0.10/sq ft (cooling) |
Rebate amounts are current published schedules as of September 2026. ThermWise rebates are subject to change on 30 days' notice; Wattsmart on 45 days' notice. Verify before quoting. Hansen is a listed contractor on both programs.
Twelve Signs Your Home Is Ready for an Envelope Review
These signs don't prove an insulation defect on their own — they're reasons to inspect the complete roof, wall or floor assembly. At Park City's elevation, small deficiencies compound fast.
Recognize any of these? A free assessment takes about an hour and tells you exactly what's happening.
